Texas Bookcases

My father and I built these bookcases for the upstairs hallway of his home in Texas.  They measure 7 feet tall and 8 feet wide.

They are built in three separate pieces: left, right and center.  The center section is 15" deep and the two side sections are 12" deep.  The side sections are 2 and 1/2 feet wide and the center section is 3 feet wide.

We added some decorative trim and molding.  This trim includes casing blocks on the top outside corners.  We found some that have Texas "lone stars" instead of the typical rosette pattern.

The center two shelves of each piece are fixed.  The two upper and lower shelves are adjustable.  The bookcase units are finished with two coats of gloss white paint.
