A - Z   Sentences

Since my brother and I first started this game, we have created a new variation for people who have already written their first A - Z sentence.  This was important or else nobody would be able to play the game more than once.  In this version of the game, one person chooses a word starting with any letter to be the first word in the sentence.  [You can add randomness and interest to this process by turning to any page in a dictionary and blindly pointing to a word.]  Then, you construct an alphabetical-order, 26-word sentence starting with that word in which the alphabet wraps from "Z" to "A" again.  For example, if the first word of your sentence were to begin with a "W", then your next words would begin with "X", "Y", "Z", "A", "B", "C", etc.

Another "rule" we created was that if you choose your starting word by selecting one from a dictionary, you may use any form of that word with regard to part of speech.  For example, if the starting word was "run", you could also start with its variations such as "runs", "running", or "ran".  That word is just intended to help give people a place to start.  This game could be played in groups: one person selects the start word and then people try to be the first to complete the entire sentence.

So, if you would like to try to write your own 26-word alphabetical sentence, please do.  And I hope that you will e-mail me and share it.  If you like, just let me know and I will also put your sentence up on this website (with your name credited, if you so desire).  If you plan to write your own sentence, I recommend that you NOT read our examples below because that might artificially alter our results regarding the similarity of word choices for certain letters.  But, for those of you that don't plan on trying to write your own, but would like to see what ours look like, please feel free to read our sentences.  Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by.
